A parkway style typical section is being utilized with two 12’ lanes in each direction. The paving section includes 14” of HMA and closed section curbing throughout the project. Several new bridges are included with new structures at US Route 40, Bird River Road and over Amtrak near Eastern Boulevard. A federal lands complex of over 60 acres will be developed using Renaissance procedures which abandon existing zoning in order to permit the best use of major properties. This area near existing Martin State Airport should develop immediately after MD 43 Extended opens for traffic.
