Honeygo Boulevard Phase III
|
![]() Honeygo Boulevard at Forge Road CSince the development of the White Marsh Regional Mall, Eastern Baltimore County has been targeted as a development area. Honeygo Boulevard was originally a small access road to the mall and was relocated by the construction of White Marsh Boulevard (MD 43) in the late 1980’s. Baltimore County has undertaken a series of extensions of Honeygo Boulevard to US Route 1. This project built by Dixie Construction Company of Churchville Maryland was inspected by Century Engineering for the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and is the next to last project planned. The final extension will be advertised in early 2006 and will essentially complete an Eastern “Bypass” of Perry Hall. Traffic volumes will soar as development in the area is intense and the Kingsville area will gain better access to I-95. Bill Moore was Dixie’s Superintendent for this project which extended from Cross Road to Forge Road. The low bid was $4,115,026.00 for the half mile long project and included almost 5,200 tons of Superpave and 9,900 linear feet of 4” sidewalk. Poor soil conditions mandated 5,800 square yards of undercut and soil stabilization fabrics and 7,821 square yards of soil cement. The highway section included 4” of GAB and 4” of CR-1. Utility construction included new sewer, storm drain and water lines. Perry Hall Park grading, parking lots and ornamental walls were included in Dixie’s work with a value of $1,216,708.00. Ball diamonds and pavilions will be included in a subsequent contract
Vince Kicas and John Koneyak said that the project finished ahead of schedule and within the allotted budget. Special thanks to Vince and John for providing the details from the Baltimore County Department of Public Works.
